What is the AUSC’s vision for sports and sport for development in Africa over the next five years ?

To discuss this question an AUSC Task Team consisting of experts in sport development and sport for development from the continent came together in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from May 13-14, 2024. The Team discussed specific sports objectives and activities under different priorities such as Equitable, Active, Winning and Sustainable Africa. All members were deeply engaged via lively discussions, always with the objective to maximize the contribution of sports to the aspirations of AU Agenda 2063. In a next step, the amended strategy draft will be presented to and discussed with the AUSC’s Organs and further extended by tangible indicators and timelines on the way to finalize the strategy in the course of 2024. The AUSC thanks all Task Team members for their commitment and invaluable input.
